Mental Health First Aid
The help given to people who are developing a mental health condition, experiencing a worsening of an existing condition, or in a mental health crisis
LIVE COURSES ( 2 DAY DURATION)

The SMHFA course teaches adults how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing problem or having a mental health crisis.
The help is provided until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves. Mental health problems covered are:

The 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults who work, live or care for adolescents, such as school staff, parents, sports coaches, community group leaders and youth workers.
Learn about adolescent development, the signs and symptoms of the common and disabling mental health problems in young people, where and how to get help when a young person is developing a mental illness, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in crisis situations.

BLENDED (E-LEARNING + INSTRUCTOR LED)
The Blended Courses have been adapted from the full courses described above. These courses require a minimum of six (6) participants to proceed and so, are subject to change.
ONLINE
These courses comprise a self-paced e-learning component (5-7 hours) plus instructor-led Zoom sessions.



LIVE
These courses comprise a self-paced e-learning component (5-7 hours) plus a one instructor led session of 6-7 hours depending on the course.

Refreshers
The aim of the Refresher Courses is to update and build upon skills learned in the initial Standard or Youth course. The Refresher course contains new films and additional materials and is delivered in either in-person or on Zoom. Anyone who has completed a Standard or Youth course in the last 3 years is eligible to attend.
